File sharing automatically turned back "on" with Windows Vista 32 bit?
Dear all, thanks for reading this thread: The context is my coworker's work computer (running Vista Enterprise 32bit), which I believe that it should be belonging to a domain or something. The "File sharing" and "Printer sharing" under the "Sharing and Discovery" section of the "Network and Sharing Center" (under Control Panel) seems to be automatically turned "ON" (after rebooting, or keeping the PC turned on for a while), even though I tried to force these two settings to set to off. Is this normal?? Is this related to some sort of domain group policy or anything? Thanks!

Hi, If your network location type is set to Private (Home or Work), then file sharing is turned on by default. Please check if it is still belong to domain when the issue occur. If not belong to domain, check if it is set to Private (Home or Work). If it belongs to domain, you may need to Enable or Disable File Sharing for a User or Group by Using Group Policy. In addition, turning on printer sharing automatically turns on file sharing, because printer sharing uses the same protocols as file sharing, and requires the same Windows Firewall rules to be enabled. If any third party firewall installed, please disable it to check the result.
